Freedom of information requests

There are times when it could be beneficial to the client to know what exactly CIC has recorded on their file management system that pertains to that client's application.

One of those examples would be when spousal sponsorship application is denied.

If the clients wants to appeal the denial of spousal sponsorship application knowing exactly why CIC visa officer made such decision may be if immense importance (CIC will provide brief explanation of the decision in the denial letter however there is much more information on the system which is not disclosed in the denial letter).

Since March of 2011 CIC has been using Global Case Management System (GCMS) and anyone can access that information (their own information) under the Privacy Act by making Access to Information and Personal Information Request.

Both CIC and CBSA maintain such information records.

We can make such request on your behalf. Our service fee is $200 (tax included).
